Mechanical Engineering (ME)

Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Department. Mechanical Engineering is a foundational branch of engineering with extensive application fields. Mechanical engineers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life in civilized societies by advancing various modern systems, including automotive, railway, aircraft, and maritime industries, power plants, air-conditioning systems, robots, and heating/cooling systems. Within mechanical engineering, specialized sub-branches have evolved to address specific application areas such as construction and manufacturing, thermodynamics, energy, machine theory, and dynamics. The department’s objective is to cultivate engineers capable of leveraging modern technologies and driving production development by imparting students with contemporary knowledge in mechanical engineering fields. Our department is staffed with young and dynamic academicians who are dedicated to shaping engineers capable of competing on the global stage and meeting the evolving needs of industry.

Facilities

The library plays a pivotal role in the academic journey of B.Sc Engineering students. To facilitate ease of access and enhance learning, SIMT Engineering College has established a well-stocked library comprising a vast collection of subject-specific and reference books. With over ten thousand domestic and foreign titles, students have ample opportunities to explore and study using their library cards. SIMT continually endeavors to augment its collection by procuring new books, ensuring students have access to the latest resources.
In consideration of students’ residential needs and security, SIMT Engineering College authorities operate separate hostels for boys and girls, accommodating a total of 60 students. Ensuring cleanliness and orderly management, student entries and exits are meticulously recorded in register books. Furthermore, the hostels are equipped with CCTV surveillance for enhanced security. Students residing in the hostel have access to ample library and laboratory facilities. For any inquiries regarding the hostel, please contact: 01936-005816.
