SAIC Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT), under the affiliation of Dhaka University, stands as the largest private educational institution, with the integration of quality education with technological advancement. Recognizing that the development of skilled human resources hinges upon the fusion of educational excellence and the rapid development of technology, SIMT advocates the importance of technical education in shaping competent and experienced professionals. Established in 2022 with an unwavering commitment and determination, SAIC Institute embarked on its journey with four departments. Presently, academic pursuits are conducted under the esteemed Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Dhaka University. Each academic session offers admission opportunities to a total of 130 students, with 30 students allocated to each department.

Program Description

Mechanical engineering encompasses a wide array of engineering disciplines, focusing on five major areas: thermodynamics, solid mechanics and dynamics, fluid mechanics, design and manufacturing. Specialized areas of study include combustion engines, acoustics, aerodynamics, biomechanical engineering, environmental engineering, energy conversion systems, material science, robotics, and vehicle design. The B.Sc. in ME program introduces students to fundamental concepts and principles, followed by advanced courses and electives that delve into specialized knowledge and practical applications. Hands-on experience is gained through experimental lab sections, allowing students to work with current engineering equipment. Design projects are an integral part of the program, fostering teamwork and communication skills through oral and written presentations.
